Brave
Who else is super excited for the new Disney Pixar movie Brave? I cannot wait!
Trailers
Trailer 2, the music towards the end is from Julie Fowlis and I instantly feel in love with her voice. The song name is Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird a' Chuan. Look it up on Youtube.

I am definitely excited! I like stories with strong female characters. I like redheads (I married one). There's also a review by a professional archer out, analyzing what you can see in the trailer, and he loved it! In the contest scene, all of the suitors have typical beginner errors, while Merida has perfect form, using her back muscles instead of her arms for power, and the slow motion of the arrow is absolutely accurate. I am very much looking forward to seeing it.

I am so damn excited to see this movie! In the past few months, every-time we've seen a movie that trailer has been up and I get like a little kid and squeal about it!

I am!! I'm so glad to see Pixar moving in this direction. I've been sick to death of their story formula, it's great to see something that bucks it.

Okay, I'm confused. What formula is this that encompasses their stories about toys, fish, cars, monsters and robots?

It's a lot of reused tropes. Act 1 is a flashback that shows the main character's flaws, from there it's a story about a varyingly cynical everyman and a sidekick who annoys him who eventually have a fight for no reason and split up only to come together at the climax of the film, usually after the main character has had a few scenes brooding and looking at things that remind him of friendship or whatever.
I'm also just glad to see them committed to making movies about people instead of things that aren't people acting like people, which was originally Lasseter's way of getting around old CG's inability to create an appealing human character.

Not to mention, the main character is always male.

The plot sounds pretty generic - fits a lot of other movies, too and leaves out the main conflict points in the plot. Still, yeah, there's always that sidekick dynamic. That sidekick dynamic may also be in Brave - though it doesn't look like it from the trailer.

Strangely enough, I find the trailer endearing, even though I think the Warrior Princess trope is utterly lame.
