I recently got "Personal Trainer: Cooking" for the Nintendo DS so I could learn to cook with the Nintendo equivalent of someone holding my hand through the entire process- something I pretty much need in the kitchen around things that could burn down my house when I'm left unsupervised with them.

I don't have a regular oven, well, I do, but only the stovetop works on it. We have a convection oven that sits on the counter that we use to cook things... but we rarely cook. Whenever I have tried to cook in it in the past things have come out... well, I'll be honest. Not even the dog would eat it, but the chickens did enjoy my failures. I'm thinking that the problem would be I'm using a different piece of equiptment and I really just haven't the slightest what I am doing.

Does anyone here have any experience with convection ovens? Any hints or pointers to help me out?

Can you bake bread in convection ovens?

If it helps, mine is probably like half the size of a regular oven. It has a few settings; convection, bake, broil... It's downstairs and I'm upstairs and my back is not up to getting us closer right now, lol.

I used to use a convection oven all the time. The thing started to get pretty old and nasty so I left it at an apartment I moved out of. I never used it for cooking bread though - just warming up frozen french fries and stuff like that.
