Wadda ya think? Is he just a daft *****? Does he make a good point? Should we slap him with a herring?

You tell me!

I think this deals with the social issues in England. I'm not completely familiar with it though.

The guy does have some good points, but he is generalizing Islam as a whole, when I know quite a few (Slatka for one) that is not like that at all. Just like some people generalize Christianity as a whole, he is doing the same to Islam. Though some of his points do make sense.

The bit about the veil, I think, was uncalled for. Who the heck cares if a woman wants to wear a veil. As long as she isn't hurting anybody, it shouldn't matter.

I say slap him with a half-herring and shake a half-hand. :p

All in all I think he is saying what a lot of people are thinking, but he generalizes WAY too much.

Edit: And that was all very general, wasn't it? :scratchchin:

He makes some good points, he makes some bad points, but all in all I kinda like where he was going.

I'm going to go with "nazi halfwit". His language is vile. And his "carpet chewing" comment, among others, was racist. You have a problem with a tradition's teachings? Fine. Stick to the point. Is the current demographic situation in England causing cultural tension? You bet. But stick to the point and offer a solution - but saying that Islam isn't even a religion is not it.

Thank G@d for the internet where boorish antics like this can vent and he can get it out of his system before he does something more stupid than just embarassing himself for the uninformed bigot that he his behavior exemplifies.

The guy needs a beer, and a hug, and a course in comparitive religion. He's articulate, and once he's cured of his ignorance and anger I'm sure he can be a productive member of society and not just an internet side show.

There's a new mosque being built around the corner from my house. I'm looking forward to construction being done and meeting and learning more about my new neighbours. G@d is one gem with many facets.

Two herrings, is my vote.

I think he's an idiot. He's seen a few news stories, looked with disgust at a few traditional Muslim women walking the streets, and now he thinks an expert. He's exactly what radical Islam requires to further spread its influence and achieve its objectives. A few days of listening to this guy and I'd gladly sign up myself. ;)

The vast majority of his complaints are related to Arab culture and have nothing to do with Islam whatsoever. Only 15 per cent of the world's Muslims are Arab. Everything people in the west think they know about Islam is potentially wrong - the stereotype of a Muslim in the west is actually a stereotype of an Arab, one that suits Arab Christians just as much as it suits Arab Muslims. By claiming this is a problem with Muslims, you give these Arabs some sort of divine protection from being questioned for exporting the most backwards aspects of their culture. You can't say, "You can't do that" because now everyone is behaving as though its a religious requirement that must be respected.

Anyhow, he needs to get out of Britain and visit one European, one African, one Asian, and one moderate Arab country. Maybe then he won't be so cocky and ill-informed.

Otherwise, how would he be employed?

I don't understand the question. :)

I don't understand the question. :)

You mentioned that acting the way he does, he only furthers the cause of extremism by furthering the gap and stifling sane discussion - this is what he wants, because unless Islam continues to act in the way he wants, how can he denounce it? And then he won't make money? You understand, yes?

Radical, Saudi-style Islam is a problem; it's a very serious problem. While this guy is wrong to generalize the problem to all of Islam, I think it's just as wrong to pretend that nothing he says is legitimate or true. I pretty much agree with everything he says, and if he had been careful to say he was talking about a particular expression of Islam, I'd have no problem with it at all.

And frankly, the "racist" accusation is pure bull. Islam is not a race, and calling this man racist because of his derisive comments about radical Islam makes no sense. It's like calling somebody racist because they criticize "Christianity" for the excesses of American Evangelicals or of the Vatican.

I think he has some good points, well for an Atheist ;) He has a vid bashing Christians too.

I think he's pretty funny.
